The Power of Connections
Don’t you love how we make connections? A couple of months ago on a Zoom call with Jon Acuff, I told him I was looking for an editor. He recommended a woman named Anna and said she had edited for him in the past. While he spoke, a friend from Jon’s Remarkable You event texted me. Jimmy said Anna was his editor and he would be happy to connect us via email. He did, and Anna is now editing Finding Joy in the East: A Comeback Journey.
When Finding Joy in the East hits the bestseller list, who do you think I’m going to thank for connecting me with an amazing editor?
Last week all four of us connected at Jon’s office outside of Nashville. Jon and Anna live there, and Jimmy and I went for an event Jon is piloting called Stage and Page. At Stage and Page, Jon shared what he has learned about speaking and writing with a small group of us who want to do more of both. Within the group, Jon is connecting speakers and writers from Everett, Washington to Calhoun, Georgia to Washington, DC.
Some of the most important people in our lives are there because someone we know connected us. Think. Who do you know because someone you know introduced you to someone they know? Have you thanked them? And now think again. What connections can you make today?
Thanks for being a part of this journey!

Love the hook! Can’t wait for you to be a bestseller! And does that make me best friends with Jon Acuff (once removed, of course)? Proud of how far you have “traveled.”
