A wonderful story for a beautiful family.
Great memories of carrying on a family tradition. Truly, there is no place like Jimmy’s.

Bet you remember all those transitions and name changes too. Fun to reminisce isn’t it?

Snowballs? That’s so funny, we call them snow cones here in Illinois. Like ice cream cones, but with “snow” (shaved ice).
I love a good “mom and pop” store. There’s just no feeling like it!

Yep. Snowballs, snow cones, shaved and flavored ice. I’ve heard some places add cream or milk. Hadn’t thought of Jimmy’s as a “mom and pop” store, but yeah, nothing like ’em. They make you smile.

I remember hearing Sandi mention Jimmy Payne’s not long after she moved to Calhoun. Beatrice, and/or most likely Billy probably stopped in periodically to what was new at Jimmy Payne’s. Is Jimmy Payne’s the store that used to have a hand-written sign in the window that read as follows: We Fix Toasters ?

Ha! Your memory is far better than mine! Probably so! I will have to ask Sue and Mitch about that one. Or, maybe Sandi would remember. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Joy.. this is a very great story Joy. It really hit home with us having had a business in a small town. We just recently closed it after near 40 years. Now, Sally is retired as well.
Keep writing …you have a wonderful gift.
Stay well my friend. Sally and I will call you soon and we can catch up. We have lots to catch up on. Stay well my friend ♥️
